This is an exciting time to join Priors Court as we develop a new In House Recruitment team. This role plays an important part in the success of the business by supporting the recruiters to provide a best-in-class candidate experience. We are looking for someone who is comfortable owning the logistics of the process, with a strong focus on building a great candidate journey and providing seamless support to our interview teams.

  • Based onsite at Priors Court Road, Hermitage RG18 9NU with an element of remote working if required.
  • Solid work experience within administration, ideally within a Recruitment or HR environment

The role of the Onboarding & Recruitment Coordinator
As a Onboarding & Recruitment Coordinator, this position will act as a subject matter expert for the compliance process and best practice and will coordinate and complement all aspects of the pre and onboarding process. This role is pivotal in ensuring completion of all compliance activity surrounding new appointments so that they meet the organisations screening standards, these include Right to work, DBS and Safeguarding Checks. You will take responsibility for effective processes to ensure that all newly appointed staff (both internal/ external) experience a smooth transition into their new roles, with a strong focus on communication and systems management.
The role will suit you if you’re highly organised, tenacious (getting hold of people might take several messages or calls) and have a flexible approach when it comes to managing ever changing, and evolving priorities. You’ll thrive in a busy role with autonomy, possess a proactive approach and the ability to communicate in an engaging, and effective manner via email, phone and in-person.

Your main responsibilities will be to -

  • Ensure that all new starter records are updated into the HR System and that individual electronic employee files are created and completed with all the relevant onboarding information for all new employees.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to validate/resolve any gaps or issues that are identified to ensure start date targets are met.
  • Ensure hiring manager and associated team/s are ready to welcome new staff members and that departmental inductions, buddy’s, equipment, IT access and required training are in place.
  • Provide support to all new joiners in connection with the e-learning required prior to start date liaising with the training department as and when necessary, providing information to payroll as required.
  • Follow up on DBS Update service membership with all new and existing employees to ensure subscriptions (SCD) remain consistent.
  • Support with the management of confidential and complex vetting enquiries.
  • Liaise with external agencies as appropriate, such as TrustID, Home Office & DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service)
  • Support the HR team in ensuring all Right To work approvals are in place for all staff who work on a visa or have a temporary leave to remain.
  • Support Managers to ensure that all probationary checks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Support the Recruitment Business Partners (RBPs)within initial screening of applications, rejecting candidates appropriately or forwarding suitable candidates onto the RBPs to coordinate initial Telephone Screening

It would be highly desirable for you to have -

  • Experience of within the Care or Education sectors
  • Knowledge of legislation and compliance around recruiting into education and care sectors

Prior’s Court was set up by Founding Patron Dame Stephanie Shirley, whose vision of a centre of excellence for children with autism became reality with the opening of Prior’s Court School in 1999. We have since grown to support around 90 young people with complex autism aged between 5-25 years.

Qualifications
A recruitment or HR qualification would be ideal but is not as essential as the right work history and experience within administration, ideally within a Recruitment or HR environment
