Description:
This post is ideally suited to a candidate considering a career in Oncology, post Foundation training: Experience will be gained in the management of common malignancies, including chemotherapy assessment. There will also be opportunities to be gain experience in radiotherapy. Depending on the interests of the successful applicant, support will be given to pursue an interest in Medical Education or a Quality Improvement Project. The department has a good record of such projects being successful with presentations or posters nationally.
The post holder will join a highly supportive team, including advance nurse practitioners, Oncology Speciality Doctors and Oncology SpRs. This post is not a training post, but clinical experience and supervision will be similar to junior SpRs. There is an active clinical research programme, with opportunities to be involved with trial recruitment
