Description:
SALARY: COMPETITIVE, DEPENDENT ON EXPERIENCE
ISQ Recruitment is seeking an Operations Manager for a key client in the food manufacturing sector. This critical role involves managing manufacturing operation, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with health, safety, environmental, quality, and food safety standards.
The role covers all factory operations, from materials handling to production, processing, and continuous improvement (CI), with a focus on risk management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Degree level education or equivalent experience in food manufacturing and supply chain.
- Experience in leading continuous improvement and change management projects.
- A track record of developing teams to achieve exceptional results.
- Strong organizational skills and a structured approach to delivering business performance.
- Proficient in problem-solving, crisis management, and business continuity planning.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ideally holding HACCP & Food Safety Level 3, and a SHE qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH).
Responsibilities:
- Lead by example to ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, driving a world-class culture.
- Guarantee production meets statutory, company, and customer standards for food safety and quality.
- Drive excellent customer service daily to meet business expectations.
- Manage the operation’s budget, including volume delivery, waste management, and labour costs.
- Develop managers, supervisors, team leaders and the shop floor team through training, development, and coaching.
- Implement motivational and engagement strategies for employees.
- Work closely with the R&D team to manage product processing effectively.
- Lead change management initiatives, minimizing business risks.
- Promote continuous improvement and root cause analysis to ensure sustainable operations.
