    Position: Opérateur/ Opératrice - Quart de Soir
    Primary Location: St.Augustin, QC,
    Shift: Evening shift - Monday to Friday - 8h (15h to 23h)
    Reports To: Production supervisor
    Compensation: $27.56/hr + premium - $2.00 (evenining shift) + benefits
    The CAD hourly rate for this position is $27.56/hr +premium + benefits. Hourly rates are determined by role, level, and location. The hourly rate displayed on each job posting reflects the starting rate for new hires for the position. Rates may also be determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. More specific rate factors for your preferred location can be discussed during the hiring process, as some facilities are subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements. Please note that the compensation details listed in the US roles postings reflect the hourly rate only, and do not include benefits, pension contributions or additional incentives such as overtime and shift premiums.

QUALIFICATION

Knowledge

  • High school diploma
  • Technical degree or AEC in engineering (would be an asset)
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience is desirable

Responsibilities:

  • Produce alum and ferric sulphate according to Chemtrade standards and procedures.
  • Load trucks, railcars, portable tanks, and drums with ferric sulphate, liquid alum or sulfuric acid using the appropriate safety procedures and equipment for each.
  • Operate and maintain essential production equipment.
  • Perform basic general maintenance and installation of equipment when the maintenance team is not available.
  • Complete and maintain production, safety and quality documentation and records.
  • Carry out routine chemical analysis of products (several types of analysis, preparations, and CoA).
  • General calculations are required to load trucks, tanks and wagons if required. Be able to make corrections and react to results.
  • Employees must be able to clearly explain what is happening at any given time (part of the hiring test in the first three months).
  • The plant supervisor must be informed at all times of any safety, quality, environmental or productivity issues.
  • Employees must be able to lift loads of up to 50 lbs and carry these loads for a short period of time.
  • Employees need to be in good health for specific tasks such as cleaning the leaf filter or shoveling magnetite.
  • The job does not require repetitive movements.
  • The work is carried out 50% in the plant and 50% in the operations office to check all trends and any alarms.
  • All other related tasks
