Operating Technician

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

PPO Level 2 or above

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 4 years’ experience working with or in Chemical Process Operations or similar

JOB PURPOSE:

The Operating Technician role is critical to the safe and efficient operation of the complex. Operating Technicians are primarily responsible for the operation and maintenance of the plant in order to deliver the required business needs, safely and with maximum margin. Professional conduct is essential on such a high hazard asset and a keen focus must be paid to all safety and environmental aspects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities, including but not limited to;

• Comply with all legislative and non-legislative EHS systems (e.g. COSHH, PTW, Risk Assessment, COMAH) and escalate issues as appropriate.
• Ensure that a safe and effective handover is completed.
• Monitoring and patrolling the area, carrying out routines, and making adjustments appropriate. Recording and logging action as necessary
• Operating the process plant - changing the status of the equipment to suit the operating or maintenance requirements of the plant
• Carryout maintenance of the plant appropriate to the production need
• Responding to upsets and emergencies
• Identifying and implementing efficiency, quality or throughput improvements by participating in manufacturing improvement teams or by the generation of job methods and training materials
