Responsibilities:
JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the UK Managing Director, you will develop and manage the Scottish operations to deliver, quality products in an efficient and cost effective manner. As Operations and Commercial Director you will bring operational excellence, drive an improvement culture and drive value for your customers.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Development of GBG growth strategy whilst supporting wider Country and Group strategy
- Drive accountability into the Operational teams in respect of operational and cost delivery.
- Support the Key Account Managers in Customer Quarterly Business Reviews
- Devise and deliver operational plans in-line with budget and strategy delivery requirements
- Provide exceptional customer service to a diverse and demanding portfolio of clients ensuring all forms of communication are fully utilised as necessary
- Organise transportation activities
- Manage UK landside operations including domestic movements and warehouse activities including storage, re-working and re-delivery of goods
- Organise transportation activities from point of UK Port to delivery, orchestrating transportation movements, and arranging services as necessary
- Managing information accrued from UK port of arrival through to delivery, reporting to customers, suppliers & internal stakeholders accordingly
- Booking in Deliveries using our systems including re-booking as necessary
- Coordinate and track movement of goods through logistic pathways
- Execute logistics plan to move products and packages to reach destinations on schedule
- Responsibility for all required import/export documentation being made available to the customer / del point in advance of the delivery, via agreed medium (email, myHillebrand, AXIS etc)
- Review freight rates and other transportation costs to keep working costs low
- Maintains quality throughout the logistic processes
- Liaise with operations managers and team leaders to assist with identifying opportunities to drive service excellence / efficiencies
- Manage UK Integrated Logistics Services including warehousing and UK delivery
- Manage agreed UK customer cross-trade POs / traffic
- In conjunction with Commercial & IT, drive haulier inbound / outbound data efficiency agenda (EDI)
- Maintain accurate records at all times for local office / area and group’s requirements
