Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
This position will learn and master our Practical Process Improvement (PPI) Business System, achieve certification in the process, and to educate others to achieve the site’s goals of transformation. You will partner with functional leaders to drive continuous improvements in day-to-day business processes through PPI Leadership, to include aligning and coaching problem-solving at all levels. You will need to leverage your project management expertise and knowledge of the (PPI) Business System to support and join or lead projects or strategic initiatives. A good amount of ‘shop floor’ presence will be beneficial, in order to understand and prioritise any issues and their resolution.
Some of the methodologies we utilise are: conducting Gemba Walks to identify process improvement opportunities, Kaizens, Daily Tiered Management, process and product 3P, value stream mapping, error-proofing, Kanban, material flow, and 8-step problem-solving. Resources, training and walk-throughs are available, as is an internal network of peers to the role.
Responsibilities:
As a member of the site leadership team, you will:
- Promote a work culture that embraces continuous improvement and leverages the talent of the organization to execute the strategy and achieve its business and financial objectives
- Ensure savings targets are met through good governance of continuous improvement
- Educate employees in continuous improvement tools and thinking to improve the manufacturing experience, become more efficient, and ensure sustainable processes and controls
- Train associates in PPI tools and concepts (guides are available)
- Regularly seek feedback from the manufacturing staff to directly meet and understand their needs
- Work with other LPE PPI managers to standardise and improve the PPI Business System across the division.
