Description:
We are seeking an experienced Operational Excellence Specialist for the Europe & Americas region. The workplace will be either in Basel, Switzerland, or Hamburg, Germany, and the workload for this role is 100%.
As part of this role, your tasks will be:
- Define and drive adherence to processes, which includes training on processes and systems (current & future) used by Operations.
- Handle TMS (Transport Management Systems) communication, training, and management of specific cases that require unique validation.
- Propose initiatives to drive digitalization with the objective of reducing costs, driving efficiencies, and ensuring data quality improvement. Once approved, lead or support the implementation of these initiatives.
- Detect, report, and initiate correction and prevention of quality issues by driving continuous improvement efforts following a DMAIC approach.
- Issue and maintain operations manuals and support the creation and maintenance of governance policies and guidelines.
- Ensure trainings and refresher trainings to address non-compliance issues or after TMS enhancements.
- Lead decision-making regarding operational activities with a governance or compliance character, if required, in alignment with Management.
What should you bring?
- Vocational education as a freight forwarding clerk or similar.
- Further education in Project and/or Quality management.
- At least 5 years experience in a similar position in Switzerland or Germany
- Fluent in German and English
- Experience in Ocean- and Airfreight operations
- Strong experience in Project management
- High IT affinity, especially TMS, Excel, and Power BI
- Good communication skills
- Good analytical thinking skills
- Solution and process oriented
