SUMMARY

The Operational Excellence Team Leader (Manager) will lead and mentor a team of Operational Excellence Engineer(s) that will initiate and drive execution on projects related to standardizing best practices, continually reducing costs and increasing overall efficiencies; all within a fast-paced, high-growth food manufacturing environment.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / REQUIRED INGREDIENTS:

  • 2-5 years related experience in manufacturing (food industry highly preferred)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management or a related field

  • Expert knowledge of Continuous Improvement Systems, Six-Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, etc.
  • Exposure & knowledge of Sanitation processes, challenges & improvement opportunities
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office, VBA knowledge, exposure to PowerApps is an asset)
  • Collaborative/mentoring management style
  • Data Analysis (Minitab, Matlab, and Python knowledge is an asset)
  • Six Sigma certification required
  • Able to provide expertise and knowledge across the organization
  • Ability to manage and deliver multiple Operational Excellence projects
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • The ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Flexible to work various work schedules as needed
  • The ability to exercise sound judgment and make timely decisions
  • Strong analytical skills both, written and verbal (English)
  • Resourceful with a sense of urgency in providing solutions
  • Must have valid driver’s license and vehicle

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing leadership in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma to help eliminate waste, reduce costs, and improve efficiencies across all of Operations, including Manufacturing, Sanitation, Quality, and Maintenance
  • Responsible for mentoring and coaching a team of Operational Excellence Engineers and Co-ops
  • Identify and lead multiple improvement initiatives / projects of high importance to the business
  • Create an environment which fosters a continuous improvement culture across all facilities including innovation and integration of all new relevant technologies
  • Work closely with all departments and levels of management
