Description:

To provide vision, drive, and leadership to the patient access agenda, with particular focus on the delivery of the elective waiting times standards (Cancer, Referral to Treatment and Diagnostics).
To ensure the Trust’s Patient Access Policy and Standing Operating Procedures are kept up to date, reflecting both local and national guidelines and policy. Manage the Trust’s compliance with policy through an effective training and audit programme.
Demonstrate continuous improvement in our approach to patient access and patient experience. This will include supporting and leading on the redesign of specific pathways and processes.
Provide evidence and assurance regarding data quality on all elective access standards; and provide regular reports to the Care Groups and to Operational Performance Groups.
The post holder will be a specialist resource for the Trust, as a subject matter expert in all aspect of elective access national guidance (Cancer, RTT and Diagnostics).
Lead and develop a high functioning, resilient and motivated service to manage patients through cancer pathways, that supports the Trusts performance against the national standards.

To provide vision, and leadership to the Service Delivery Managers for Admissions and Outpatients with particular focus on the patient access agenda, and the delivery of the elective waiting times standards.
Responsible for managing the Trust’s RTT validation team. To ensure the trust is compliant with National Access policy and Cancer Waiting Times, RTT and Diagnostic rule suite, this includes oversight of Trust wide Standard Operating Procedures, and audit programmes on the application of the RTT and DM01 rules suite.
Responsible for delivery of pathway management training for staff across the organisation including the appropriate use of relevant patient systems within the organisation as required, in conjunction with the Trust’s EPR team.
To lead on National elective care programmes, relating to the management of the elective care waiting list such as PIDMAS and the National 12wk validation programme (clinical, technical, and contact). Keeping up to date with Royal College guidelines and GIRFT recommended actions relating to admin management of elective pathways.
To be a subject matter expert in management of elective admin pathways and advising the programme management team of the system wide working ‘Clinical Acute Network – One Dorset collaboration programme, liaising with our partner organisations in Dorset
