Your role
The Operational Risk Team coordinates the risk management control activities. Risk management assesses and reports all operational and business risks to enable the Executive Board to monitor their overall risk profile so that risk triggers and limits are identified at an early stage and suitable countermeasures are taken.
The Operational risk & Control Expert is the linking pin between the central and the local risk management function. This function provides effective independent oversight and monitoring of non-financial risks.

The Country Operational Risks function is responsible for:

  • Collaborate with all departments and teams involved in the control and monitoring of the operational risks, with reporting to the central Operational risks team.
  • Identification, measurement and reporting on Operational risks against the back of the entities’ Risk. Review and issue an opinion in periodic reports and ad-hoc requests.
  • Contributes to ensuring overall control of operational risks by monitoring the effectiveness of LOD1 controls and related corrective action plans.
  • Oversight the adaptation of the central policies and procedures to local regulation and monitor the implementation of Ayvens’ Operational Risk framework locally.
  • Challenging and guiding relevant stakeholders on topics related to operational risks to create awareness and a sense of responsibility for risk owners in the business.
  • Support the implementation of Operational risks framework designed by central LOD2.

Key expertise areas:

  • Operational risks: Assess, measure (quantify), challenge, and monitor operational risks, train the organization on the management of this risk and advice on policy, actions on each operational risk type (Outsourced Services, RCSA, KRI, New Product Committees, Incident Management / Loss collection)
  • Internal Controls framework: Brings our Internal Control Framework with respect to operational risk management to
  • A next level, driving process and control improvements, bringing risks within appetite.
  • Internal Control awareness: Proposing solutions / improvements and initiating Control Framework related actions and provide input for training to embed across Ayvens.
  • Process improvements: Proposing solutions / improvements to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Your profile

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in a comparable role in the financial services sector.
  • Relevant University degree (Bachelor/Masters level) e.g. in business or technology related field is required.
  • Command over very good presentation and inter-personal skills
  • A strong understanding of full scope of risk management practices and techniques including experience in the development and implementation of risk policies.
  • Expertise area: Operational Risk Management, Internal Control, Internal Governance
  • Knowledge regarding banking regulations (EBA) and interaction with ECB and local regulators.
  • Project management skills.
  • English (fluent, verbally and written).
