Job Title: Operations and Logistics Coordinator
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Status: Part Time, Permanent 20-30 Hour/Week
Reports to: Program Coordinator
PAY: $15.95 Per Hour
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Armed Services YMCA, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening the military community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Operations and Logistics Coordinator will provide support in the ASYMCA facilities, serve as a member of the administrative staff and schedule all logistics in order to ensure smooth working processes of the ASYMCA of Alaska. Work as the communicating liaison between retail sites, community programs teams, facility repairs and procuring needed event and program items. Ensure the ASYMCA of Alaska is recognized among military members and their families.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma, some college preferred.
- Two to four years related experience preferred.
- Minimum age requirement applies; minimum age of 21.
- Must be an organized self-starter who works well independently as well as on a team. In addition, must be customer service oriented with good phone, interpersonal and writing skills.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of
the community.
- Proficiency in MS Office is required.
- Experience with military lifestyles preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving abstract is required.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage project tasks to ensure project delivery within allotted budget timelines.
- Observe, review, and analyze processes to identify efficiencies and areas where improvement can be made.
- Maintains facility and program safety manuals, forms, processes and storage.
- Facilitates correspondence with third party service providers.
- Serves as liaison between bargain shops, military courtesy lounge and other off-site programs for equipment and supply needs.
- Weekly supply and office shopping, being mindful of budget and bulk purchases.
- Ensuring installation offices have complimentary supplies and the ASYMCA is represented professionally.
- Assists with all ASYMCA facilities to ensure coverage and support as needed. This includes two Bargain Shops, Military Courtesy Lounges and Food Pantry support.
- Working in collaboration with Volunteer Coordinator to recruit volunteers.
- Primary assistant to special events director as needed.
- Represent organization as required.
- Provide support to executive director as needed.
- Assist in maintaining neat and welcoming spaces in all office and program areas.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
