About This Position:
The Operations Assistant implements plans for new operational startups of commissary services, both on-site in correctional facilities as well as in Keefe Distribution/Service Centers. This includes performing Best Business Practices Guide compliance audits and on-site operational audits as well as identifying, addressing and resolving any operational and/or service related issues and reviewing existing operations to identify and implement improvements and cost savings opportunities.

Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Work with Keefe Management to improve labor efficiencies at assigned Keefe operations
• Assist the Keefe Management in the managing of the new account start-ups and schedules by:
• Train new staff on software, inventory and Company policies
• Train the on-site supervisor/manager on proper inventory control, including all procedures and reports in the BBPG
• Train On-site Mangers and staff on proper Keefe commissary delivery procedures by instructing and delivering commissary orders to inmates in corrections environments
• Implement policies for credits, damaged product, out of date product and returns
• Assist the Keefe Management in the counting and inventory of customer buyback
• Instruct on-site staff on Keefe and Facility security/safety procedures, notifying Keefe management if there are conflicts with the Facilities policies/procedures
• Provide follow up training, on-going support and assistance to all on-site managers and staff
• Present information to analyze the profitability, costs and operational issues of prospective accounts
• Assist with assigned aspects of inventory control including ordering, receiving, stocking product and processing orders
• Take pride in your surroundings by helping maintain a clean workspace
• Other duties as determined by the needs of the business

What You’ll Need:

• Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or an Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Warehouse managerial or supervisory experience a plus
• Valid driver’s license
• Requires supervisory skills: ability to lead people and get results through others
• Ability to implement standard management practices
• Ability to work in a correctional environment
• Excellent organizational skills
• Familiarity with inventory management
• Familiarity with computers (including Microsoft Office programs)
• Ability to travel on a weekly basis
