Description:
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Cadre’s Transit division offers our clients technical rail service solutions including commissioning and testing of new transit vehicles, warranty repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspection services. Our contractors work with the leading Ontario transit suppliers and agencies, ensuring their equipment is available to provide reliable on time service to their passengers in some of North America’s largest transit systems.
Reporting to the Rail Operations Manager, the Operation Control Center Operator will be responsible for coordinating all train movements when required within the yard and mainline to facilitate vehicle testing on the Eglinton Crosstown LRT transit system (https://www.metrolinx.com/en/greaterregion/projects/crosstown.aspx). Our Operation Control Center Operators will be required to follow all municipal traffic laws and Transport
Canada regulations while monitoring and controlling the safe movement of trains on both the EMSF Yard and Mainline.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited, to:
- Ensure that the Yard is maintained as a clean, healthy and safe working environment under the direction of the Vehicle Supervisor and Wayside Maintenance Supervisor
- Monitor and control train operations in the EMSF Yard using the Communications Based Train Control System, ensuring trains are supplied as required for launch of service and ensuring that trains are moved efficiently and safely within the yard to facilitate maintenance activities during non-service hours
- Receive, log and answer customer problems/requests/issues
- Perform first level problem identification and troubleshooting. Documenting troubleshooting process and assign cases to next level support when required
Requirements
- 1-2 years of previous experience in Transportation and Logistics, Yard Control, Dispatch, Service Desk, Help Desk, Call Center or Technical Support experience
- Ability to identify, clarify, and resolve issues and risks, escalating issues as needed
- Analytical, technical skills and attention to detail are critical
- Available and able to work days, afternoons and night shifts
