1 ‑ Full Time ‑ Operations Coordinator
NW Region Prehospital Care Program
This individual will report to the Northwest Region Prehospital Care Program (NWRPCP) manager to assist in the
establishment and implementation of prehospital care operational priorities based on identified service deficiencies
and/or initiatives that promote the efficient delivery of quality patient care. The operations coordinator will be an
individual with both an innate sense of what constitutes excellent patient care and a clear understanding of how to
structure operations such that excellent care is the only type of care provided. This individual will provide
clinical/professional leadership to facilitate a safe and effective work environment and professional accountability
amongst all staff. In addition, the operations coordinator will develop, administer, deliver, and evaluate education and
certification activities to align with the Ministry of Health and Long‑Term Care (MHLTC) and Emergency Health
Services (EHS) guidelines, mission, and vision.
The six domains of clinical practice will be supported: clinical expert, consultation, change agent, leadership,
research and education. The time dedicated to each of these domains will be based on the current program needs
and it is anticipated will vary as the role and program needs evolve.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience:
* Minimum of a four (4) year Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences or in a health‑related field, from an accredited
university or equivalent.
* Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in a healthcare environment.
* Minimum of two (2) years’ of working in a leadership/supervisory role, preferably in a paramedic or trauma care
services environment.
* Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in adult education principles will be considered an asset.
* Evidence of ongoing professional academic growth.
Skills/Abilities:
* Demonstrated knowledge of pre‑hospital medicine.
* Demonstrated excellent presentation skills.
* Demonstrate knowledge of curriculum design principles.
* Proven ability to monitor and report on budgets.
* Demonstrated ability to coach, advise and teach others using the principles of adult learning.
* Demonstrated training, experience or utilization of lean methodology for process improvement.
* Demonstrated ability to independently identify issues, plan improvements, measure success and continue
improvement.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and principles of management, hospital committee structure, conflict
management and resolution, system needs analysis and organizational assessment.
* Ability to use tact and discretion in dealing with health care providers and employees.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and problem solve as evidenced by the achievement of defined clinical
outcomes in a leadership role.
* Knowledge and experience in change theory, adult learning principles and implementing quality improvements.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
* Strong organizational, critical appraisal and analytical skills.
* Ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team.
* Demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills.
* Knowledge in computer applications and software (e.g., GroupWise, Microsoft Office Suite Programs [Excel, Word,
PowerPoint]) and patient information systems.
* A clear understanding of the role that operational excellence can play in supporting the delivery of clinical
excellence of care.
* Strong initiative and ability to work independently.
Salary Range: $47.128 to 55.443
