Description:
Oceanex is currently recruiting for an Operations Coordinator for its Terminal located in Halifax. Reporting to the Terminal Manager, the Operations Coordinator is responsible for International dispatch in the Halifax terminal, along with supporting any and all operations tasks in Halifax.
QUALIFICATIONS
- University Degree, or equivalent combination of experience and education;
- 2 years of similar experience;
- Prior experience within the marine sector (an asset);
- Computer literate.
SKILLS
- Strong written and oral communication skills;
- Ability to interact with clients in a courteous and professional manner.

Responsibilities:
- Perform Customer Service;
- Ensure all proper documentation is completed by the customer, received by Oceanex and handled correctly;
- From time to time assign pick-up or deliveries to a carrier, communicate dispatching information to parties involved;
- Liaise with external parties to obtain reefer information and ensure through our service provider, they are set to the correct temperature;Handle other administrative duties, filter phone calls, prepare various reports which include customs and dangerous goods documentation;Vessel discharge and advice documents to customers and carriers, which includes preparing delivery orders and release numbers to allow carriers to pick up units from terminal;
- As OHS Representative, ensure a healthy and safe work environment for office staff. Monitor emergency equipment and supplies;
- Support the Operations Manager in her responsibilities;
- Review and approve HEA and certain other invoices.
- Perform other duties, as assigned;
