About this role
Associate Operations Engineer – Job Description
We are looking for a technical support engineer to join the Production Engineering team, working within the Aladdin Platform Group. A person who has a passion for technical troubleshooting, learning new technology tools and improving new procedures & processes. This role involves identifying trends and being a problem solver with a proven aptitude for quickly learning new technologies and proprietary systems. You will be a technical product expert during customer implementation projects, organize and implement the system deployment plans, while automating software integration and developing reports in compliance with applicable project requirements.

Role Responsibility
§ Build, update, and maintain tooling to deploy, upgrade, monitor, and maintain infrastructure hosted in AWS and Azure.
§ Designing, implementing and working with automated solutions for cloud-based infrastructure.
§ Developing or modifying solutions to automate tasks and meet business requirements.
§ Contribute to a library of software that enables the smooth operation of BlackRock products.
§ Help to suggest and design both short-term and long-term engineering solutions to improve existing operational workflows.
§ Build relationships with stakeholders to understand their roles and requirements and clearly communicate with them on progress, challenges, and questions.
§ Ensure resilience and stability through quality code reviews, unit and regression testing, and level two production support for owned tools.
§ Collaborate with team members in a multi-office, multi-time zone environment.
Skills/Qualifications:
§ A degree specializing in Computer Science, Technology, MIS, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or similar.
§ 1 – 4 years of industry experience in an engineering role.
§ Experience in a programming language such as Python, Java or PowerShell and their respective testing modules.
§ Exposure to and understanding of cloud ecosystems such as AWS or Azure, including knowledge of their respective APIs for provisioning and monitoring.
§ Understanding of Agile work environments, including knowledge of Azure DevOps, GIT and CI/CD.
§ Experience with Windows Server environments.
§ Experience troubleshooting clients’ technical issues, and experience working with engineering teams, sales, professional services, and customers.
§ Excellent communication and presentation skills.
§ Ability to work with teams across geography.
§ Create and deliver best practices recommendations, documentation for internal wiki pages, and presentations.
Good to have:
§ Experience with Linux server environments.
§ Experience with configuration management or Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Ansible.
§ Experience with Kubernetes environments.
§ Previous experience working in the Financial Services or Technology industry.
