About us
The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone’s experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.
About the role
The Funded Services branch sits within Consumer Affairs Victoria and manages a range of community-based programs delivered by not-for–profit agencies supporting Victorians experiencing vulnerability with assistance and advocacy services across the financial counselling, tenancy and consumer sectors. The team also manages the Victoria Property Fund grants program, including housing development and renting educational grants. Funded Services also plays an important role in the response to natural disaster through the establishment of recovery focused programs and works across the department and government in the design and implementation of these.
Reporting to the General Manager, Funded Services, the Operations Manager, Community Programs, is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the core operations of Funded Services and management of the team. The Operations Manager will work closely with the General Manager and other leaders to meet key program deliverables, including not-for-profit agency reporting and payments, are met to ensure that CAV’s community-based programs are available to those in need.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE:
- Manage Funded Service’s oversight and administration of CAV’s community-based programs, including across the financial counselling, renting and consumer sectors and the Victorian Property Fund Grants program.
- Lead the development of a high performing culture in Funded Services through the management of a multi-disciplinary team, including learning and development, recruitment, induction and performance planning.
- Contribute to the development, management and evaluation of new grant programs and funded services.
About you
To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:
- Experience leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams to achieve organisational objectives.
- Experience in the management and oversight of grant programs, including management of reporting and payment processes and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience in the management or delivery of programs in the community services sector.
Other requirements
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field would be highly regarded.
