We operate some of the most recognisable and loved restaurant brands to be found anywhere in the eating-out market, such as Bella Italia, Café Rouge and Las Iguanas. We operate over 150 restaurant sites in a variety of locations including leisure parks, shopping centres and high streets. We are a national business, with restaurants located across the country, from Inverness to Torquay, employing thousands of people and serving millions of meals each year.
We are looking for an Operations Manager to join Banana Tree and support us in delivering our ambitious nationwide growth plan. Based in the Midlands area, we need a results driven leader capable of delivering all elements of our performance scorecard, who genuinely cares about our Team and their development and is passionate about delivering a memorable service experience to our guests.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS/ATTRIBUTES:

  • Must live on patch (ideally within West or South Midlands)
  • Operations experience within a hospitality multi-site business is essential
  • Builds strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience of coaching and people development people.
  • Acumen and strategic thinking
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to drive results.
  • Experience of delivering sales growth and P&L profit conversion.

Responsibilities:

  • Maximise team performance through leading and directing GMs and their teams.
  • Deliver year on year sales growth and budgeted profit.
  • Drive sales through pro-active local community marketing, special occasions, and events.
  • Safeguard the brand and reputation of the business through diligent site visits ensuring that General Managers are maintaining quality in all aspects of the business.
  • Maximise EBITDA in the area through monitoring cost control and coaching managers to improve their ability to control costs.
  • Meet the specified service and hospitality standards by coaching and setting personal objectives for General Managers.
  • Drive consistent standards through regular visits and observing the shift.
  • Lead the improvement of service and hospitality delivery based on customer and business reporting for the area.
  • Resolve every guest complaint received for the area and actively promote positive feedback.
  • Deliver like for like (year on year) growth for the area.
  • Maximise team performance through managing, engaging and coaching the FOH & BOH managers. To perform regular check backs to ensure that General Managers are managing, engaging and coaching their teams.
  • Lead by example in the recruitment of managers by following the specified recruitment criteria and company recruitment processes.
  • Achieve retention targets through the selection, engagement, performance management and development of the team.
  • Promoting the importance of employee health & wellbeing.
  • Maintain an open development culture through encouraging people to learn from their mistakes.
  • Deliver succession planning for the area by identifying high performers & potential candidates for management positions. To develop them using coaching, training and other development tools.
  • To be accountable for health & safety standards by driving any actions from our H&S auditors, the EHO or other governing body whilst also checking-back personally on restaurants’ H&S standards.
  • Safeguard the restaurants in the area against financial and property losses through ensuring all security procedures are followed.
  • Improve the efficiency of the restaurant through monitoring relevant company reporting and acting on results.
  • Improve the operating standards of restaurants in the area through coaching the General Managers to make continuous improvement.
