KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Provide leadership to a team of people leaders, through active coaching, performance management, effective communication, and development planning
- Act as a change agent that leads the organization towards a culture of continuous improvement by instituting best practices and promoting continuous learning of employees
- Ensure that healthy operational reviews and measures are in place to track and deliver results to reduce injuries, improve quality, and reduce costs
- Work with cross-functional peers to ensure scheduled production is completed on time through effective staffing and production line troubleshooting while maintaining employee safety and product quality
- Maximize efficiency by optimizing staffing and production levels to reduce fluctuations and drive operational excellence
- Establish new or revise existing production practices and data collecting systems
- Support front line supervisors in the investigation of non-conformances, near misses, downtime ensuring in depth root cause analysis and implementation of relevant countermeasures
- Identify and address key concerns that may alter or impact production schedule
- Manage production consumables and labor budget
- Ensure regulatory, compliance and legal requirements are followed in all manufacturing processes including but not limited to food safety standards, occupational health and safety act regulations and Ministry of Labor requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- The Operations Manager must have a working knowledge of all aspects of highly automated process, packaging, and warehouse operations.
REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of 5 years related work experience in a food, beverage-manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.
- Must have experience with BRC, HACCP, good manufacturing practices and regulatory compliance
- Sound verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrable leadership, management, and administrative skills.
- Proficient with MS Office
- Knowledge of Timekeeper and SAP an asset
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma and TPM an asset
