OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR - ARCP

ARCP is a heavy civil construction company specializing in mass excavation, drilling and blasting, site servicing and main installation, concrete placement and asphalt paving. Based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. We are currently looking to add a Construction Operations Supervisor to join our growing team in the HRM. Reporting to the General Superintendent, the individual will be well-versed in construction operations, a resource for developing solutions and responsible for overseeing the full scope of construction activities within the organization. This is a dynamic role for someone who has an established career in the industry and is looking to continue growing.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in the heavy civil construction industry.
  • Post-secondary education is considered an asset, equivalent experience is equally valued.
  • An outgoing personality with the ability to adapt and work well with a wide variety of people.
  • Highly organized, punctual, reliable and process oriented.
  • A strong understanding of construction operations and safety standards.
  • Proven ability to solve problems and delegate resources effectively.
  • A leader by example who sets a positive tone among staff.
  • Bonus points to candidates who have worked as a construction labourer. The best leaders start from the ground up!

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the allocation of human resources & equipment requirements.
  • Manage sub-contractors
  • Overseeing production, productivity and quality standards.
  • Resolving problems and identifying construction management system improvements.
  • Performance appraisals, constructive feedback, and performance management.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
