Position: Operations Supervisor
Primary Location: Edmonton
Shift: Salaried - Monday to Friday - 40 hours/week; Overtime needed as per business needs and training objectives.
Reports to: Plant Manager
Compensation: $105,000 - $118,000 + Benefits
The CAD salary for this position is $105,000 - $118,000 + benefits. Salaried rates are determined by role, level, and location. The salaried rate displayed on each job posting reflects the starting rate for new hires for the position. Rates may also be determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. KNOWLEDGE

  • Must be a 3rd Class Power Engineer - Registered with ABSA
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in chemical plant environment, with extensive knowledge of operational, process and maintenance procedures with focus in efficient and safe production and preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THIS ROLE AND ABOUT YOU

The Operations Manager at our Edmonton, AB plant has responsibility for keeping the plant in a safe and reliable operating condition. They are responsible for all Operations activities at the plant. The activities/responsibilities include management of all site operations personnel, all contract personnel, day to day production activities, assistance with the Preventive Maintenances program, the Mechanical Integrity Program, and the CAPEX program. The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring these activities are done in a safe, environmentally sound, fiscally prudent manner, in keeping with the Responsible Care ethic and Chemtrade’s culture and values.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • All responsibilities of a Steam Chief at a 3rd class facility
  • Plan, organize, and control Operations activities within the plant.
  • Acting Steam Chief (1,820 kW)
  • Planning and control of budgets for both Maintenance and Operations
  • Plan, schedule and organize partial plant outages for maintenance activities.
  • Organize and control operations human resources. Plan, organize, and control production, staffing, activities.
  • Organize and lead efforts to investigate, identify, and implement solutions related to process upsets, customer quality issues, process improvements, process and human productivity, and any other variances within the Scope of Position.
  • Lead the establishment of Responsible Care ethics within the whole plant.
  • Control compliance of all activities within Scope of Position as relates to plant safety standards and practices.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
  • Optimize resource allocation for maintaining the plant and improve process uptime.
  • On-call rotation for operations and maintenance along with the Plant Manager.
