In Supply Chain Operations (SCO) we lead, plan, and execute the supply of IKEA products between suppliers and retailers. We do this together with our ~1000 coworkers, from 15 locations around the world, by leading the tactical and operational planning, securing optimal replenishment, sourcing and development of transport and logistics capacities, and managing the goods flow.
In Category Distribution, we are responsible for securing handling & storing capacities for IKEA products. We do this by establishing and managing relationships with distribution centers around the world. Our ~40 coworkers work closely with Service Providers, Retailers, Wholesaler, and other stakeholders across the IKEA value chain.
For our Distribution Center in Dubai, we are currently looking for an Operations Support Specialist responsible to enable delivery of goods within the agreed lead time and quality, at the lowest possible operational costs, with the customer in focus and the total supply chain in mind.
Job description

Our Operations Support Specialist will:

  • Secure operations in the warehouse are executed to meet excellence in operations and collaboration with the External Service Provider (ESP) and other relevant stakeholders (Customs, Supply Operations, Retailers, etc.).
  • Coordinate and optimize inbound and outbound planning execution tasks to secure goods delivery within the agreed parameters.
  • Support development and implementing the warehouse’s mapping strategy, including picking activity to optimize efficiency and continuously improve in-warehouse processes, in collaboration with service providers.
  • Follow up on activities of the ESP in the warehouse unit to achieve expected results and initiate corrective actions with the goal of improving service standards at the lowest possible costs.
  • Update, follow up and communicate KPI’s (inventory, quality, efficiency).
  • Support ESP to secure 100% compliance for export related activities in warehouse (labeling, fumigation).
  • Contribute to improving and optimizing the local ways of working.
  • Take part in global and local projects to find efficient and innovative ways to optimize the unit logistic process and systems.

Qualification

You are the right person for us if you have:

  • Higher education preferable in Logistics, Transport or Supply Chain management or equivalent expertise gained through working experience.
  • >3 years working experience in logistics or warehouse operations.
  • Good knowledge of planning and mapping processes in a warehouse.
  • Ability to communicate confidently and clearly in English.
  • Self-reliant and motivated with a proven ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Experience of working in a multi-cultural work environment.
  • Experience in working on cross functional projects.
