Description:

OPHTHALMIC TECH QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED
  • Experience: 5+ years of ophthalmology experience, preferred
  • Certification/Registration: Certified Ophthalmic Tech (COT)
  • Other Skills and Knowledge: Outstanding patient service skills and Microsoft Office skills

OPHTHALMIC ASSISTANT OVERVIEW:

Greets patients and escorts them to and from the examining rooms. Obtains ocular, medical and family history; assists doctor during exam or minor surgery as well as with any additional testing. Assists the screeners, surgery scheduling tech and front desk areas as needed; answers patient telephone calls. OPHTHALMIC ASSISTANT QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: High School diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Must have good telephone and communication skills.
  • Equipment Used: Must be able to operate equipment to perform: VFA, A Scans, PAM, BAT, color vision testing, pupil evaluation, Amsler grid, automated keratometry, and corneal topography.
