Description:
- In collaboration with Care Group and Divisional Senior colleagues, be responsible for developing, establishing and effectively communicating the key projects and programs to deliver the overall strategic vision and key objectives for the Care Group. 2. Applying a full understanding of the relationship between financial performance, operational improvement, clinical quality and effective people management, ensure the Care Group effectively delivers its business objectives within its financial operating envelope.
- Demonstrate and effectively communicate a clear understanding of the key drivers of financial performance within the Care Group, and identify the appropriate information required, in support. 4. Within a modern infrastructure and culture of transformational change, use the key drivers of financial performance to lead operational improvement.
- Promote organisational efficiency, demonstrate cost-effectiveness, and embed a culture of value for money and return on investment. 6. Develop and implement an annual business plan that delivers the key business goals and objectives of the Care Group 7.
Develop and present business cases in support of the annual business plan. 8. Proactively identify potential obstacles to achieving key business goals and objectives and establish appropriate handling strategies to overcome these. 9.
Establish an effective business performance management process that monitors progress against the delivery of the annual business plan: In the event of under-performance, take rapid and decisive corrective action to correct. On behalf of the Care Group Leadership team, co-ordinate the preparation and presentation of key performance data and information for discussion with the executive team at monthly performance reviews. 10. Communicate highly complex and sensitive information which maybe contentious about the service area to staff and senior managers ensuring that effective communication is achieved, particularly where barriers to understanding exist. - Collate data from performance analyses into required reporting mechanisms, developing spreadsheets and data bases where necessary relative to service area and create reports for the Care Group, senior clinicians and other key members of staff. 12. Regularly identify quantifiable opportunities to improve operational excellence and lead on their development and implementation.
- Take an active part in any operational lead rota alongside other members of the senior management team this involves evening and weekend working. 14. Provide leadership and absolute clarity of purpose for all direct reports.
- Establish and implement an effective performance management system that identifies strengths and weaknesses, at team and individual level, and supports improvement. 16. Continuously challenge the status quo, and push for improved performance, at an individual level.
- Take decisive and timely action to address areas of poor performance, under-achievement, and risk. 18. Assist in promoting and developing the culture of a learning organisation, that is fully committed to providing excellence in both health and customer care, and to providing continuous improvement 19.
