POSITION SUMMARY

Shapes, mounts and fits optical lenses in eyeglasses by operating edging and blocking equipment, ensuring efficient and accurate production of prescription eyeglass orders at the optical lab.

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience in eyeglass edging & fitting in a Lab environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Receives in lens & frame purchase orders from the US and domestically into the AS400 system.
• Co-ordinates the order flow of purchase orders / jobs in order of receipt, in a timely manner
• Uses edging equipment to trace, edge and fit lenses to specifications on frame order
• Use of lens meter in order to identify specifications to match the lens order
• Maintains and co-ordinates frame inventory
• Packs and ships all eyeglass purchase orders to each warehouse in a timely manner
• Communicates with warehouses, US lab and Buying office in a timely manner, via email and telephone
• Provides dispensing advice and solutions to the warehouse, where required
• Assists in other areas of the department as necessary
• Assists in other departments of the company as necessary
