Description:
This post is an opportunity to join our friendly team of Optometrists who support the Ophthalmology Department in a wide range of co-management clinics. These include the independent assessment and co-management of patients in the following areas: glaucoma, cataract, diabetic eye disease, macular diseases, cornea and acute referral. Other core optometry services, including paediatric refraction and corneal topography, are also central to the service.
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who can work as part of a wider team in the delivery of a range of optometric services as needed. This is an exciting opportunity to support the services currently provided by hospital Optometrists to the Ophthalmology Department as a whole.
This role is for up to 12 months fixed term maternity leave cover. The post includes at least 2 sessions of ‘virtual clinics’, which may include diabetic, glaucoma and/or medical retina reviews. Other sessions will depend on the need of the service but are likely to include one paediatric refraction clinic. Although the days and hours of the contract will be fixed, the precise clinics may vary over the course of the post depending on the needs of the service.
To work closely with the line manager in order to deliver a comprehensive range of optometric services to the highest standards of quality and care.
Participation in the delivery of highly complex specialist optometric services and a comprehensive range of core optometric services that meet the changing needs of the Directorate and other outside agencies.
