Description:
Our client required the services of an experienced Oracle DBA for 3rd Party Support.
Only applicants based in South Africa and eligible to work in South Africa may be considered.
POSITION: Contract Role for 12 months (annual renewal)
COMMENCEMENT: As soon as possible.
REQUIREMENTS:
15+ years of experience with Oracle Database (spanning versions DB 10,11,12,18,19+): configuration, setup, tuning, troubleshooting, backup and recovery
Oracle RAC / Clusterware: configuration, setup, tuning, troubleshooting
Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Deep-dive troubleshooting, Expertise in - Optimizing data filtering, i/o bottlenecks, Tuning replicat transactions, Network efficiency, implementing monitoring scripts (Unix/Perl scripting)
Oracle backup/Recovery RMAN
Migration /Upgrade: Db migrations, OEM Migrations, installation/patching
Working Goldengate knowledge is a plus: Active-Active, Active-Passive bidirectional configuration as well as Goldengate administration: Managing/Manipulating data, Patching, Extract/replicat, Conflict detection & resolution, security considerations, Configuring manager and n/w communication, Live Reporting, Online Change Sync.

Responsibilities:
This position is considered level 3/4 support.
Occasional after-hours, weekends and holidays support for urgent customer issues.
Must have excellent customer focus and communication, friendly interaction and passion to help customers with their software issues.
Ability to troubleshoot customer issues in an environment where online and remotely connected to the customers systems.
Must have the ability to work within a close team environment.
Drive customer satisfaction by tracking issues from start to closure, minimizing ageing cases.
