The Opportunity
As an Order & Warranty Clerk, you are responsible for handling all special orders, warranty claims and BOPIS transactions for the retail location. Your main focus is to ensure that customers receive their products or resolve their warranty issues in a timely manner when their purchases related to any of the above. You act as the liaison between all vendors and customers when there is a product or part issue brought to your attention. You are responsible processing, picking and delivering all BOPIS transactions at the location, and are required to place special orders from vendors or move product from alternate locations in order to meet customer needs. Having a strong knowledge of the inventory system, the ability to have difficult conversations with customers and vendors, and exceptional organization and time management skills are necessary for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the liaison between customers & manufacturers to resolve all warranty issues
  • Ship or send pictures of products with warranty issues to manufacturers
  • Administer the BOPIS process by tracking and following-up on orders, ensuring orders are picked, verifying customer information, and delivering the product to the customer upon arrival
  • Track and follow-up with vendors to ensure the timely resolution of open claims
  • Manage the flow of goods for special orders, products on-hold, and store orders
  • Educate the retail team on warranty information and policies to ensure the correct information is relayed to customers on initial contact
  • Assist on the retail sales floor for promotional events as required
  • Assist with Receiving Clerk and Inventory Clerk duties as required, including but not limited to, receiving and putting-away product, inventory counts and organizing the warehouse

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of prior retail experience is required
  • Previous experience managing warranty claims is a definite asset
  • Ability to handle challenging customer and vendor conversations
  • Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Organizational skills and able to manage conflicting priorities are essential
  • High attention to detail skills
  • Proficiency in computer use
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Information

  • This position reports to the Assistant Store Managers and Store Manager
  • This position requires team members to work varying hours, seasonal overtime, and shifts during days, evenings, and weekends
  • This position requires team members to stand for extended periods, climb a ladder and to move merchandise (weighing up to 30 pounds) throughout the store
  • Steel toe, green patch work boots are required
