Description:

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Completed University Degree in Behavioural Science or a related field (e.g., Psychology or Industrial / Organisational Psychology)
  • Related Postgraduate qualification (preferable)
  • At least 5 years in a specialist-type role, such as organizational design/ organizational effectiveness/performance management/change management, functioning as an internal or external consult in a medium – large corporate.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the human performance/human capital management area.
  • Project delivery experience; leading organizational change and introduction of new ideas
  • Some experience having to influence/persuade/lead teams, some team leadership experience in preferable.
  • Exposure to HR generalist fields, understanding of the practices around recruitment, IR, development, pay.

Responsibilities:

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

The Organisational Effectiveness team in Human Resources has a full-time, permanent position available for an Organisational Design Lead who will be based in either Bellville or Sandton, reporting to the Head of Organisational Effectiveness.
This role will be focused on providing specialized knowledge and expert guidance – as well as delivering a variety of initiatives and projects to the business within the Organisational Effectiveness Centre of Expertise (CoE).
As an Internal Consultant, you will engage with the HR Delivery partners (i.e., HR Business Partners) as well as Line Managers across the business on issues around organization design, organisational change management, performance development and management, Expertise, specialized knowledge and a hands-on approach to generating ideas and creative solutions will enable you to support best practice leadership within the HR team, around particular areas of expertise.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE?

  • Act as subject matter expert and provide operating model and organization structure design support to structure and realign organizational entities, processes, and roles.
  • Develop organization design framework, principles and standards that are understood and utilized across the business.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of the current organizational structure, including roles, responsibilities, reporting lines, and job titles.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of organizational design changes, adjusting as needed to optimize performance.
  • Provide guidance and support to HR teams and department heads in implementing organizational design changes.
  • Build internal organization design capability.
  • Provide change management expertise to support operating model changes.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in organizational design and apply relevant insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to ensure buy-in and alignment with organizational design initiatives.
  • Look at the system from the inside out; identify the deep-seated organizational issues from a culture, values, and leadership perspective.
  • Facilitate and manage projects that span and impact Santam as a whole, as well as those of a small, more localized BU nature.
