THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 12 MONTHS DUE TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICE.

Are you an experienced Organisational Development (OD) professional looking for your next challenge? We are seeking a skilled OD Manager to join our Culture and OD team on a fixed-term or secondment basis for 12 months.
It is an exciting time to be part of the Culture and OD team at Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust, we have a number of initiatives underway to make our organisation a great place to work, enabling us to all be our best. You will have a proven track record in leading engagement and wellbeing programmes across a complex organisation to enhance the employee experience. Using your OD experience you will interpret data, diagnose situations, develop and deliver solutions in partnership with other members of the OD and People and Culture team, leaders and managers and key stakeholders. This role enables you to be creative, work on your own initiative and work collaboratively with others to co-produce and co-implement interventions that have a positive impact on our workplace culture.
You will work in an agile manner, working from home and from key offices across Wales. Due to the role covering Wales there will be a requirement for some travel.

Acting as lead specialist for employee experience and engagement, the post holder will work independently, guided by broad occupational policies and specific local and national guidelines, in order to ensure that the Trust meets and exceeds its People, Culture and Wellbeing Objectives. This will include:

  • Provide professional advice to managers on staff engagement and related policies, procedures and practices ensuring the delivery of responses to the staff survey.
  • Ensure staff engagement strategies are part of the Trust’s working culture and practices delivered through focussed OD work.
  • Supporting the Organisational Culture and Workplace Wellbeing Lead in delivering designated OD programme activity, building internal capability and capacity in continuous improvement among front line staff

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Head of Culture and Organisational Development in implementing the People and Culture Strategy and Health and Wellbeing Strategy, with a particular focus on engagement and the Staff Survey.
  • Facilitate and drive engagement and wellbeing initiatives throughout the Trust, developing strategies and policies to support employee engagement and wellbeing in compliance with relevant legislation such as the Equality Act 2010.
  • Act as the lead specialist for employee experience and engagement, working independently within broad occupational policies and guidelines to exceed the Trust’s People, Culture, and Wellbeing Objectives.
  • Provide professional advice to managers on employee engagement policies, procedures, and practices, ensuring effective responses to the staff survey.
  • Integrate staff engagement strategies into the Trust’s working culture through focused Organisational Development (OD) work.
  • Support the Organisational Culture and Workplace Wellbeing Lead in delivering designated OD programme activities, building internal capability and capacity in continuous improvement among front-line employees.
  • Line manage an Organisational Development Project Support Officer, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment.
    The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

JOB SUMMARY/JOB PURPOSE:

The post promotes, champions and leads engagement and wellbeing programmes across the organisation to support a positive employee experience. The post holder advises to help ensure that Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust fulfils its obligations and aims to be an employer of choice and that the organisation establishes and maintains a reputation as a fair and inclusive employer.
The post holder will support the Head of Culture and Organisational Development in the implementation of the People and Culture Strategy and Health and Wellbeing Strategy with particular focus on engagement and Staff Survey and will be directly responsible for facilitating engagement and healthy wellbeing initiatives throughout the Trust. The post holder will lead on and coordinate the development of strategies and policies to support employee engagement and wellbeing, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation e.g. Equality Act 2010 and other mandatory legislation and policy. This will help ensure that the organisation meets the highest standards of practice in relation to the development of employee experience and wellbeing initiatives and to further embed these principles into the Trust’s values and behaviours framework. Furthermore, the post holder will work with colleagues to ensure that these strategies and policies are implemented across all divisions of the organisation.
