Since 1997, the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) has delivered public safety services on behalf of the government of Ontario. With headquarters in west Toronto, TSSA is a self-funded, not-for-profit organization that employs approximately 450 staff across Ontario. POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director, Organizational Development and Learning, the OD Consultant will work collaboratively across TSSA to identify organizational development opportunities and will develop and deliver innovative solutions aligned to business priorities and operational requirements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Required 3-5 years of relevant experience in design and delivery of talent programs preferably in a unionized environment
  • Completion of a university degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or related field, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Experienced at building talent programs (e.g. onboarding, performance and recognition) and executing using principles of project management and change management
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, facilitation skills tailored for a wide range of audiences – including executive.
  • Experience in a lean organization, and implementing and using lean tools and principles
  • Skilled at stakeholder engagement and management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self-starter, possesses the ability to plan, organize and prioritize job tasks in order to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to respond effectively and professionally to changes in schedules and priorities
  • Works effectively in a team environment exchanging information and innovative ideas

Responsibilities:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Researches and applies best practice approaches to recommend organizational development programs tailored to meet the needs of TSSA
  • Develops and implements enterprise talent programs across the employee lifecycle designed to improve organizational performance and employee engagement
  • Establishes ongoing processes and programs to ensure continuity of leadership talent across the organization (i.e., succession management, high potential talent development, leadership development).
  • Works collaboratively to ensure that broader HR Team has detailed understanding and is aligned on delivery approach and outcomes related to Talent Programs
  • Applies principles of change management, Lean, Project Management, Organizational Development, and Adult Learning to program design and delivery
  • Consults with internal stakeholders to identify needs and applies unique approaches to implementation to meet the specific needs of the business
  • Prepares and delivers presentations to internal stakeholders to engage, inform and educate on organizational development initiatives
  • Designs and develops resources to support leaders and staff in delivery of talent programs
  • Facilitates data collection related to employee experience (e.g. engagement survey, exit interviews) and supports analysis and action planning.
