The Outreach and Student Engagement Coordinator in the Whittemore Library will support programs and initiatives aimed at improving outreach and student engagement at the library. As a member of the Research and Learning Department, the Outreach and Student Engagement Coordinator will work independently and collaboratively with the library staff, university departments, and student groups. The position will report to the Library Dean.
Required Qualifications:
- College degree and two years relevant experience. ALA-accredited Master’s in Library/Information Science preferred.
- Familiarity with methods, practices, and trends in marketing and outreach.
- Demonstrated effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Commitment and demonstrated experience engaging openly in an environment where diversity of thought and background are valued.
- Demonstrated ability to collect, compile, and analyze data.
- Demonstrated project management and organizational skills.
- Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
- Ability to work creatively and effectively both individually and collaboratively.
- Familiarity with current trends in and strategies for communicating the Library’s value to campus stakeholders.
- Familiarity with software tools for collecting, analyzing, reporting, and visualizing data
Responsibilities:
- Creates, implements, and assesses outreach and student engagement programs in collaboration with library colleagues, faculty, and on-campus and off-campus partners.
- Plans, schedules, and leads library inclusive programming activities including book clubs, tours, and orientation sessions.
- Develops library exhibits and displays.
- Leads the library’s Marketing and Student Engagement Committee and contributes to the development of social media content and marketing materials; manages the library engagement calendar.
- Designs and develops compelling stories to highlight the value of the library using data and data visualization tools and techniques.
- Maintains reports of meaningful qualitative and quantitative assessment of library engagement programs. Administers surveys to monitor student engagement.
- Contributes to the management of Springshare products including library website.
- Contribute to coverage of the Research and Learning desk.
- Assists in special projects as assigned.

Additional Information:
This is a full-time, exempt, benefits-eligible position in the Association of Professional Administrators (APA) bargaining unit with a union title of Staff Assistant. The starting salary range is $53,000-56,000.
