Description:

UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH PHYSICIANS ARE HIRING A FULL-TIME PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT OR CERTIFIED REGISTERED NURSE PRACTITIONER TO JOIN OUR GREATER PITTSBURGH OB/GYN TEAM. PREVIOUS APP EXPERIENCE IS STRONGLY PREFERRED.

Hours: Four 10-hour shifts per week Monday-Friday. Rotating day off during the week.

Position Specifics: Outpatient OB/GYN clinics throughout greater Pittsburgh . Procedures include IUD insertion and removal, Nexplanon insertion and removal, Pessary fitting and insertion, Cervical polypectomy, Endometrial Biopsies, NST interpretation, OB/GYN sonogram reviewing

  • Gathering necessary information in a safe, accurate and complete manner to form an appropriate assessment
  • Accurate diagnosis of conclusion based on data collected and able to form reasonable differential diagnoses based on evidence-based practice
  • Implements a plan of care correctly, safely, sensitively and clearly
  • Demonstrates appropriate communication with clients and other providers. Documentation is clear and complete in medical records as well as other required forms.
  • Evaluates plan of care to determine effectiveness and able to adjust management based on accurate evaluation of the response to intervention.

LICENSURE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND CLEARANCES

Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP):

  • The successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program is required
  • BSN, MSN is preferred
  • Professional nursing experience and/or nurse practitioner experience is preferred
  • Current state RN license and CRNP certification are required
  • National certification, eligible for licensure by Pennsylvania board of nursing, eligible for certification as a CRNP by Pennsylvania state board of nursing
  • Current CPR certification is required
  • Act 33 Clearance will be required
  • Act 73 Clearance will be required
  • Act 34 Clearance required

Physician Assistant (PA):

  • A graduate of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the physician assistant (ARC-PA) is required
  • BS or MS candidate is preferred
  • Experience as a physician assistant and/or experience in a clinical setting is preferred
  • Current state PA license certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required
  • Current CPR certification is required
  • Act 33 Clearance will be required
  • Act 73 Clearance will be required
  • Act 34 Clearance required
