Description:
THE MISSION
Munich-based OroraTech is developing a constellation of nano-satellites with thermal infrared cameras for automated wildfire detection, severe weather warnings and many other applications. After our FOREST-1 and FOREST-2 missions (launched in 2022 and 2023), we currently produce eight thermal-imaging payloads for a launch in Feb. 2025. In addition to that, we developed our own satellite bus (to be launched in Oct 2024), which will serve as the basis for the launch of another 8 satellites by end 2025.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic PA/QA (Product Assurance/Quality Assurance) Manager to join our team. This role is crucial for ensuring the highest standards of quality and reliability in our satellite projects, aligning with ESA requirements and company standards. This is a unique opportunity to take part in a project with profound environmental impact, leveraging innovative space technology.
RELEVANT SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP) would be a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a PA/QA management role, preferably in the aerospace or satellite technology sector.
- Familiarity with ESA’s PA/QA standards and requirements is highly desirable (ECSS).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage complex projects and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent organizational skills, with an aptitude for managing multiple tasks simultaneously without compromise on quality.
- Proactive leadership and communication skills, capable of inspiring a culture of quality across the organization.
- Experience in supplier quality management, including conducting audits and assessments.

Responsibilities:
- Project Quality Assurance: Develop, implement, and maintain the PA/QA strategies and plans for the Cubesat projects in compliance with ESA standards.
- Vendor Quality Management: Oversee the quality of all procured subsystems, conducting supplier audits and ensuring all components meet our rigorous specifications.
- Product Testing and Validation: Lead the in-house integration testing of subsystems, cameras, satellite platforms, and software to ensure top performance and reliability.
- Documentation and Compliance: Manage all necessary PA/QA documentation required by ESA and ensure all project phases comply with established processes and protocols.
- Team Management and Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineering, project management, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless quality assurance practices throughout the organization.
