We are currently seeking an experienced Pasifika Health Lead to join our Health Advisory practice. Being part of the one-of-a-kind health advisory in New Zealand, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a diverse team that continues to grow.

  • A deep understanding of the health and social sectors and insights into the many services and professions in them
  • An understanding and deep appreciation of Pasifika cultures, traditions, and values.
  • Strong connections within Pasifika communities and a passion for driving positive change.
  • Experience in a leadership role, with a track record of developing and implementing initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire others.
  • A collaborative and inclusive approach to working with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • A proven ability to manage projects and deliver outcomes that align with strategic objectives.
  • An understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by Pasifika communities in New Zealand.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and respected.
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to identify and seize opportunities to enhance cultural engagement and impact

Responsibilities:

WHILE A TYPICAL DAY IS DIFFICULT TO ARTICULATE, BELOW ARE SOME KEY ASPECTS OF THE ROLE:

  • Leading the development and implementation of initiatives that promote improved health outcomes, particularly embracing Pasifika culture and engagement within the broader community.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with Pasifika communities, organizations, health and social service commissioners and leaders to support our outreach and impact goals.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to bring the best to our clients and the community whether for example digital, hauora Māori, equity, strategy and change or leadership development
  • Collaborating with various teams to ensure cultural sensitivity and awareness are embedded in our client engagements and internal processes.
  • Providing guidance and support to Deloitte staff on Pasifika cultural matters, ensuring our workplace is inclusive and respectful.
  • Advising on strategies to attract and retain Pasifika talent within Deloitte.
  • Championing diversity and inclusion initiatives and working to foster an environment of belonging for all employees.
  • Acting as a mentor and role model for Pasifika staff, supporting their professional growth and development.
