**EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

**

  • MS Office proficiency
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Packaging Engineering or related field
  • 4-8 years consumer packaged goods experience, ideally in a food manufacturing environment
  • Strong experience managing projects and/or leading a team in a cross-functional environment
  • Cape Pack Software experience for pallet building & testing

Responsibilities:

**OVERVIEW OF ROLE:

**
The Packaging Project Manager position oversees all aspects of packaging development and packaging project management process flow. As a key member of the Commercialization Department, the Packaging Project Manager will be responsible for all new product packaging development and project management. They will partner closely with Marketing, Regulatory, Operations, Procurement, Commercialization and R&D to accomplish company initiatives. This includes large scale launch, packaging updates, customer portal communication management, and overall process activity management.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

**

  • Under the consultation of the Associate Director of Commercialization, oversees and manages complete packaging development process, including the creation of packaging structure designs, prototype development, and performance testing while effectively communicating progress to leadership
  • Ensures packaging specifications and processing meet the corporate and client requirements, and are relative to cost, quality, and consistency
  • Works with Marketing on all new product launches to ensure packaging execution is on time and in full for launch and execution including print press approval and first production on Home Market Foods lines
  • Collaborates closely with Regulatory to ensure USDA requirements are consistently met, Operations to ensure packaging designs are optimized for manufacturability and Shipping to test pallet and packaging quality over time.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve existing packaging, processes, efficiency, and productivity through a continuous improvement mindset and communicating cross functionally.

  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Should be able to lift 30 lbs.
  • Must have good vision
  • Must be able to wear steel-toed boots, a hair net, safety glasses, and ear plugs
  • Must be able to follow GMPs and other safety rule

  • The manufacturing environment is loud and has very cold and hot temperatures. PPE will be provided to help with comfort in these areas.
