BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s in engineering or related technical area in STEM, preferably Packaging Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years of packaging engineering experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (preferably pharmaceutical, open to food/beverage as well)

ADDITIONAL SKILLS/ PREFERENCES

  • Familiarity with technology advances in packaging
  • Experience with vendor management, including selection & qualification.
  • Capable of managing and balancing multiple initiatives concurrently.
  • Project management experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent self-management and organization skills.
  • Ability to drive change through influence.
  • Applied knowledge of project management tools and processes.
  • Understanding of packaging specifications, asset delivery and C&Q process, product/package stability, and packaging components

Responsibilities:

  • Platform Support– Provide technical project support for packaging equipment and materials (as it relates to primary and secondary packaging), including:
  • Supporting product launches – provide technical leadership for the commercialization of new products
  • Strategic facility planning – maximize business opportunities, and conduct capability assessments across parenteral products network
  • Identification, evaluation and assessment of new technologies for packaging equipment and printed materials.
  • Development of packaging best practices and/or packaging functional standards that enable global replication of processes, equipment, and systems.
  • Continuous improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge Sharing – Provide ongoing technical support to packaging site engineering groups globally. Provide formal and informal mentoring.
  • Global Technical Support - Provide packaging technical support to all Lilly packaging operations with respect to materials, equipment and processes on an as needed basis.
  • Consultation – Assist packaging sites globally with technical evaluation, technology assessments, and specific problem resolution including troubleshooting and root cause analysis. Assist in technical assessments of packaging operations (Lilly and alliance partners) and packaging material suppliers. Provide consultation in support of capital projects involving packaging equipment and/or facilities.
