The Packaging Line Operator 1 is responsible for running packaging equipment at Parallel 49 Brewing’s production brewery in Vancouver, BC. Responsibilities include ensuring a safe work environment, monitoring packaged products to ensure a high level of quality, cleaning and sanitization of the plant and equipment, upholding Parallel 49’s quality standards, and proper use of mechanical equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ years of forklift, power truck or narrow aisle lift experience is an asset
- Experience in a brewery setting including setting up hoses, checking carbonation, using CIP systems or any brewery packaging would be considered an asset
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in the food and beverage industry preferred
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safe setup, operation, and shutdown of assigned packaging machines and associated equipment
- Cleaning and tidying of machines, equipment and surrounding area
- Maintain clean and organized work environment and adhere to all safety protocols
- Conduct online quality checks to ensure the finished product meets all product specifications for proper packaging material, net weight, seal integrity, labeling, case count and palletizing
- Responsible to report all quality issues or deficiencies observed to the Team Lead and/or Supervisor
- Knowledge of and compliance with all company Policies and Safety Procedures
- Perform deep cleaning duties as required
- Perform other duties as required or assigned
