Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Packaging Manager (PM) to oversee and manage our packaging inventory operations. The PM will be responsible for ensuring the availability and quality of packaging materials, optimizing inventory levels, and implementing efficient inventory management practices to support our production and distribution goals. The PM is responsible for cross-departmental coordination to manage the full lifecycle of packaging development, including innovation, redesign, line extensions, and maintenance. This role is based in McKinney, TX and will travel to facilities in CO and TX quarterly.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 4 years of experience or 8 years of experience in packaging/inventory management, preferably in the fresh food industry.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and practices, including demand forecasting, replenishment, and stock control.
  • Proficient in using inventory management software and ERP systems, experience with Famous preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies for packaging materials, ensuring alignment with production schedules and demand forecasts.
  • Analyze, monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Collaborate with procurement, production, and supply chain teams to coordinate the timely procurement and delivery of packaging materials.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and analyses to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement and maintain inventory management systems and processes to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of packaging materials.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and ensuring the timely resolution of any issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in inventory management practices, leveraging data and technology to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Analyze and interpret sales trends, develop insights from customer data and initiate cross-departmental adjustment of forecasts.
