What you’ll do – The opportunity

Description:
Reporting to the Packaging Manager, the Seasonal Relief Packaging Operator assists with all packaging operations in order to meet production and shipping schedules. Contract available from the end of April to the end of August. Must be able to work rotating shifts including Days, Afternoons and Nights. Schedule rotates on a 2-week basis.
Hourly: $18.56 + applicable shift premiums.
$500 Seasonal Retention Bonus available upon completion of contract.

‪Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate and assist in all packaging operations to meet production and shipping schedules
  • Work in compliance with company and regulatory policies
  • Report unusual incidents and accidents and assist in developing corrective measures
  • Work closely with all departments and crew leaders to ensure that internal and external customers are being adequately serviced
  • Assist in on-the-job training
  • Maintain production documents
  • Maintain a clean and safe workstation and area
  • Other duties as required

Requirements:

  • Must be over the age of 19
  • Mechanical aptitude and trouble-shooting ability
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working experience with high speed packaging machine &/or fast-paced environment an asset
  • Work rotational shift (day, night & afternoon) every 2 or 3 weeks
  • Work in a fast-paced, high-decibel environment
  • Stairs and ladder climbing; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Willing and able to learn new job skills
  • Able to meet Packaging job requirements, including initiative, safety, housekeeping, attendance and productivity
  • Acceptable criminal record check.
