EDUCATION
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE
- No experience necessary; related farm or mechanical experience strongly preferred
- Certification/licensure in welding, plumbing or related field is a plus
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Maintain mechanical proficiency
- Possess basic skills operating hand tools and equipment in a farming environment.
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds & walk approximately up to 2 hours a day.
Responsibilities:
- Feed animals daily and provide care as needed.
- Perform routine blood collection from animals applying safe practices for diagnostic purposes
- Administer routine immunizations and treatments when needed as directed by on-staff veterinarian or designee.
- Provide basic feed and upkeep for animals on a rotational basis
- Perform routine or basic maintenance on all animal care facilities and equipment to include:
- Upkeep of fence lines, drainage ditches and lawn
- Provide repairs of house and farms buildings
- Assist electrical or plumbing repairs as assigned
- Operate farm and construction equipment and machinery such as tractors, trucks and loaders; use hand-held machinery for routine farm upkeep
- Report any actual or potential safety hazards to the Supervisor, Human Resources, Safety Specialist or Senior Management.
