Description:

We are seeking to recruit keen and enthusiastic Full Time and Part Time Band 2 Care Assistants in the Children’s Ambulatory Care and Outpatient Unit. We are a very friendly team who are passionate about providing excellent care for Children and Young people and their families.
We offer a full range of education opportunities internal and external to maintain your continued professional development (CPD), including learning new skills in Venepuncture and Cannulation, Care Certificate, We want someone who is driven and can offer the best possible experience children and young people can have in the hospital setting.
This vacancy is linked to a level 2 apprenticeship. This will support you to gain relevant knowledge, skills and experience that will help you achieve your potential in this role. Working alongside the Trust’s experienced staff you will be supported to gain the apprenticeship qualification and functional skills in maths and English if required. This is a great opportunity to gain a national recognised qualification while you are working and earning, which will support you in both this role and in your future career at Frimley Health.
You will not be required to undertake an apprenticeship if you have previously completed a relevant apprenticeship, NVQ or similar qualification.
Our Children’s Ambulatory Care and Outpatient Unit caters for all disciplines within the Child Health Department and offers opportunities to work alongside teams offering a truly multidisciplinary approach to health care including nurse led clinics, supporting Specialist Nurses, Services are provided cross site within the CCG.

To ensure that all patients and other members of the public and staff are treated in a polite and considerate manner and receive prompt attention when required.
To ensure that any telephone messages or enquiries are conveyed and dealt with in a timely and clear manner.
To fulfil administration duties as required.
To support the Children’s ward and outreach clinics as required.
To ensure that all assigned duties both clinical and non clinical are carried out efficiently and effectively.
To use the various hospital IT systems in order to assist the nursing and medical staff.
To act as a chaperone, and assist the medical staff with any investigations or procedures.
At all times to be aware of the limits of their own levels of competence and at no time attempt tasks above and beyond their abilities and to work within the limits set by departmental policies.
To be aware of the complaints procedure.
To be cost effective in the use of equipment and resources, to ensure equipment is in good working order, stored correctly and ready for immediate use.
Maintain accurate, up to date records of all contact with patients and their carers.
Comply with the Trusts policies on risk assessment and bring any concerns to the attention of the line manager.
To Act in a professional manner at all times, complying with trust policies in relation to Infection Control, Confidentiality, Incident Reporting, Health & Safety and Uniform Policy.
