Description:

Do you have a passion for Paediatric Education? Supporting the up and coming Nursing workforce, in a fast paced Paediatric Unit.
Here at UHCW we have 59 inpatient beds, staffed by approx 150 registered practitioners as well as our support staff. Your role will be include hands on clinical education within the acute ward setting.

We have a supportive and welcoming team which includes a full time Band 7 Practice Education Lead, as well as another Part time Practice Educator currently in post.
The service works closely with the Paediatric Adolescent Lead, Ward Management team, Paediatric Matrons, and a the Paediatric Workforce Lead. Together they will ensure you receive the support you require throughout the recruitment process as well as overseeing your training and induction requirements to enable you to carry out your role.

Work in collaboration within the Practice Education Team and Ward Managers to provide ward based clinical skills training and education.
Supporting staff to complete clinical competencies by face-to-face training or signposting to relevant specialist nurses/AHPs
Working alongside the Practice Education Team to identify staff gaps in knowledge and skills and develop a training plan.
Participate in delivering training that drives professional development and is adapted to support specific groups of nurses (Newly Qualified Nurses, Rotational staff, Band 6 development roles, Qualified Nursing Associates, Senior Healthcare Support Workers).
Support of nursing staff who have been identified as requiring additional support and/or have an action plan regarding a specific area of practice.
Participate in study days/ training and ensure that feedback is reviewed and used to ensure training is relevant, evidence based and up to date
Work alongside the Practice Educators to ensure that all training is registered and recorded in line with Trust standards for audit purposes.
Actively participating in the Clinical Governance Agenda to ensure quality is an integral part of service provision including:
Clinical effectiveness and audit
Risk Management
Continuous professional development
Research and Development
User involvement and partnership
Ensure that all untoward incidents and accidents are reported, using appropriate
Aware of, and comply with, all Trust infection prevention and control policies, to include hand hygiene, personal hygiene, environmental and food hygiene.
To undertake annual training/updates in infection control.
Prepare for and undertake the protective interventions that she/he is responsible for in a manner that is consistent with evidence-based practice and maintaining patient, staff and other users’
