Description:

An exciting opportunity for a Paediatrican to work within our expanding Pathways to Good Health (PtGH) Service. The paediatrician will work with a multidisciplinary team performing comprehensive health assessments for children in out-of-home care (OOHC). There is a strong collegiate approach from the team that includes psychologists, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, dietitians, social workers, and physiotherapists and there are ample opportunities for peer discussion and reflective practice. We are seeking a Paediatrician to lead the clinical service as well as to deliver clinical assessments. The service will be based at Melton, but will provide assessments in a range of settings across Western Melbourne, including Caroline Springs, Werribee, and Melton. The PtGH program is being funded to address health inequities for vulnerable children in our region who are entering OOHC. The Paediatrician working in this service will need to have experience in assessing complex behaviour and development utilising a trauma-informed approach.
The role is 0.5 FTE (5 x 3.5 hour sessions per week, inclusive of one session per week for clinical leadership). Initial appointment is until 30/06/2027, with anticipated ongoing funding beyond this time. Paediatricians interested in a smaller clinical appointment are welcome to apply.
The Melton region is one of the most rapidly growing municipalities in Melbourne with significant migration in the last few years. It is easily accessible from central Melbourne and plenty of free parking is available.
Flexible commencement date, but we are interested in commencing this role as soon as possible. Newly qualified Paediatricians with suitable experience are welcome to apply.
