The Paediatric Consultation Liaison (Paediatric CL) Psychiatry team provides specialist mental health assessments for infants, children and adolescents aged 0 to 18 years old, who are admitted as medical inpatients and needing mental health support and intervention. Paediatric CL provides both consultation and liaison services to a range of medical and surgical teams and a variety of paediatric wards across three main hospital sites, including the new Monash Children’s Hospital at Clayton, Monash Medical Centre, Dandenong Hospital and Casey Hospital.
Responsibilities:
The Paediatric Consultation Liaison Psychiatry (CL) Senior Mental Health Clinician position is a specialist clinical mental health role. The Paediatric CL team provides paediatric consultation and liaison to a variety of paediatric medical teams across the three sites of Monash Health who are seeking psychiatric mental health assessments for the 0-18 age range. The team also supports the emergency departments at Clayton, Dandenong and Casey. In addition to providing specialist mental health assessments and consultation liaison support to the general paediatric medical wards of the 3 sites of Monash Children’s Hospital, the successful candidate will provide crisis assessments and management of presentations of children and young people to the emergency department as well as liaison support to the emergency department staff. The clinician will work as part of the Paediatric CL team under its governance and support and, as such, will have opportunities to work in a variety of medical settings. This 0.6 EFT fixed term role will end on 14/03/2025
