Responsibilities:
The Child Health and Development (CHAD) team provide a multidisciplinary allied health service for children and young people primarily aged 0-12 years. It is comprised of a dynamic, collaborative and friendly team of occupational therapists, speech pathologists, a play therapist, and a child and family engagement practitioner. Children are supported by several other services within BCH, including dental, continence, nutrition and dietetics, podiatry, physiotherapy, and mental health professionals/Headspace.
The Paediatric Occupational Therapist (Grade 2) will work within the Child Youth and Families directorate and will be required to provide an efficient, high-quality service to children from across the Bellarine region. You will function as a member of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team, working closely with team members from the CHAD team to promote an integrated and holistic service, including:
- Managing a caseload of both community health and NDIS clients.
- Providing high-quality clinical occupational therapy services to children and young people who experience developmental delays, difficulties or disability.
- Completing clinical assessments, the provision of therapy (individual or in group), and relevant follow up.
- Practicing in a holistic, child and family centred, and strength-based manner.
- Working in clinic, early childhood, schools, and home environments.
- Supervising students, early career clinicians, and allied health assistants or volunteers (as required).
- Participating in and have a commitment to all clinical governance activities.
