Paediatric Staff Nurse

The post holder will support the delivery of safe and effective activity within the paediatric OPD and Planned Care across site. Carry out all relevant forms of nursing care and patient management for children from birth to 16 years (this age may be extended for CYP with chronic/complex conditions). Maintain standards of care by participation in education and governance systems relating to childrens nursing. Must perform at all times in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct, being aware of his/her professional accountability.
Rotate within the Paediatric Outpatients areas to provide and maintain specific clinical skills including venepuncture, allergy testing, food challenges, and assisting in the provision of a safe, efficient service. Take charge of the outpatient area as delegated in the absence of the department Matron or his/her deputy. To be a role model for junior staff. Present a professional image to patients, parents, and any other contacts.
