Description:

Reporting to the Paper Machine superintendent, the PM production engineer is ultimately responsible for continuously optimizing the Paper Machine production processes in a sustainable way through RCA and standardization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel.
  • 2-5 years proven experience in production/industrial engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and logical approach.
  • Understanding manufacturing processes.
  • Understand lean manufacturing.
  • Ability to present data effectively.
  • Strong organization and planning skills with excellent prioritization.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety practices
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written

Responsibilities:

  • Work safely at all times and promote safe working habits.
  • Investigate production and process losses and breakdowns.
  • Develop and perform process health checks to ensure compliance with standards and regulations associated with site operations.
  • Responsible for training and coaching the operation teams on defined standards and procedures to close any gaps in the skills matrix.
  • Provide technical support for the development of standards/systems (CL, CIL, SOPs and OPLs) to enhance paper machine reliability.
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and tracking CL standards to achieve performance targets.
  • Provide and continuously develop process and technology expertise.
  • Support projects team with new initiatives.
  • Lead and support ongoing improvement activities, e.g., green & black belts, kaizens, 5s
