Description:
East London NHS Foundation Trust’s Legal Affairs Team is looking to recruit an experienced paralegal.
The Paralegal will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Legal Affairs Team (inclusive of the Associate Director of Legal Affairs, Trust Solicitor and Legal Services Officers).
They will be responsible for managing a case load of ex-gratia, clinical negligence, inquests and Court of Protection matters. This will include maintaining their caseload on ELFT’s case management system DATIX as well, collating documents for investigations, preparing court bundles, liaising with the Court of Protection and the High Court as well as barristers and solicitors in relation to court attendance and coordinate witness meetings.
The paralegal will ideally have previous experience working in private practice or the NHS in the health care advisory and clinical negligence space.
The Paralegal will work within the Legal Affairs Department and report to the Legal Services Officer.
The Paralegal will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Legal Affairs Team (inclusive of the Associate Director of Legal Affairs, Trust Solicitor and Legal Services Officers). This includes maintaining a database of ex-gratia, clinical negligence, inquests and Court of Protection cases using DATIX as well as collating documents for investigations and preparing court bundles.
The Paralegal will provide high quality support to the Legal Services Officers, Trust Solicitor and Associate Director of Legal Affairs ensuring effective handling of clinical negligence and personal injury claims. Including ensuring the Trust’s interests are protected and that claims are dealt with in an efficient and effective manner in compliance with Pre-action Protocols.
